Marlow Wyatt is a magna cum laude B.F.A graduate of Howard University. As
a professional actor she has performed in numerous Off Broadway and regional
productions and received an AUDELCO nomination for originating the role of Maxine
Clyde in Song of Sad Young Men and an Owen Dodson Award for Best Actress. As
an arts activist for youth she has worked with programs such as CityKids Foundation/NY,
ArtsDC and Everyman Street Theatre.
A year of volunteering for LA Unified
Schools inspired Marlow to develop a curriculum that combines the performing
arts, life skills and empowerment classes to serve the emotional needs of teen
girls called The Girl Blue Project. Since 2003 The Girl Blue Project has
successfully provided free classes for low-income and girls in foster care. Not
only was she a teacher and mentor Marlow wrote, directed and produced over 7
staged productions for and about the girls. Her work has been featured
in the LA Watts Times, The Spirited Woman and Mass Appeal News.
Marlow
is a member of the D.I.V.A. Society for Women in the Arts and Robey Theatre Playwrights
Lab. She is currently gearing her talents toward developing programs like
The Girl Blue Project for other organizations interested in theatre arts education
