DEBORAH LaFRANCHI has been designing costumes for theater in the Los
Angeles
area
for over
23 years. In that time, she has designed over 150 theatrical
productions, seen by thousands here in the Southland.
She was the resident costume designer at the Glendale
Centre Theatre for over 20 years and was instrumental
in the creation of Glendale Costumes, one of the largest
costume rental houses in Los Angeles. The hundreds
of costumes she personally designed and constructed
over the years are still being rented and used today
in theatrical productions, school productions, film
and television.
While at GCT her work received critical acclaim and
frequently played to sold out houses.
Deborah has been the costume designer for the Downey
Civic Light Opera for the past 7 seasons. Deborah
has also worked for and designed costumes for such
prestigious
clients as "Walt Disney Imagineering", "LA Philharmonics",
and the "Pasadena Rose Parade".
She is a graduate of FIDM here in
Los Angeles and currently owns her own design company, "Debbie's Creative Costumes" where
she designs and constructs custom made costumes for theaters and private clients
alike. She recently launched the bridal gown division of her business, "LaFranchi
Couture" working one on one with her clients, custom designing wedding gowns
in period and contemporary styles.
