SHARON L. GRAINE (Writer/Director)
- was an Actress, Model, Radio Personality, before
becoming an Independent Producer/Director and Publisher.
Ms. Graine is the Creator and Executive Producer
of “KSLG
Playhouse Theatre Players”, (PTP) an acting company
formed in Ms. Graine’s backyard in 1991. The
Company performs “The Golden Age of Radio” and “Pre-1940s
original Productions” live on stage and on
cable.
In
1997 Ms. Graine was awarded the South Bay (Multiple
Cities) Best Director Award & the 1998 Best Creative
Production Award for their cable/video presentations.
The company moved from Ms. Graine’s backyard
into their own Theatre in 2003. Ms. Graine insist
that PTP have an open door policy and writes and
produces
works for any member of the company who request
it.
In 2005 she was awarded the Advocate for
Humanities Award from the National Coalition
of 100
Black Women and she was also nominated
for Best Director of a Musical - Local 2005 for
her play When Divas
Were Divas. And, in 2006 her
play My Name Is Earth, But
You May Call Me Miss Kitty received 3 nominations
and
her
play Dorothy & Otto, The Dorothy Dandridge Affair received
5 nominations by the Beverly Hills/Hollywood
NAACP Theatre Awards
Committee.
Ms. Graine feels that enjoying what
